April 21-24 was the first annual "grandparents' spring break weekend". We met up in Salt Lake City after I traveled by plane, while Frank and Carole enjoyed an almost 2 day train ride from Vancouver to Sacramento to SLC.
Surprise!!!!
I consider myself a seasoned air traveler. So when this weekend trip to Salt Lake City came about I figured I would use a carry on so not have to wait for checked luggage upon arrival. I could simply head for the exit and not keep my ride waiting. Imagine my dismay when I discovered the plane is boarded outside, up 3 levels of ramp. I was not
prepared to lug my carry on up tha ramp! p
Worse was upon arrival to discover that after a walk of 1/2 mile, pulling my suitcase, that we must pass the baggage area before exiting. I could have checked my luggage for free and still end up the same place and time. Super bummer!

The 5 of us all flew back to Vancouver about the same time. Deb and Keys together: Frank, Carole and I together...no outside ramps...

REFLECTIONS
This was a successful first annual grandparents' spring break weekend. Deb thought next year we should try Florida to interact with the alligators! I had a fun time hanging out with Carole and Frank, Deb and Keys and Jake. Jake and the team played a good game against a powerful opponent, losing by one point, 13 to 12. I am grateful for all the opportunities to interact with my grandchilden!
