Grandma G Settles In!!

Breakfast on my deck...

 View to my right...
View to my left..... in the distant is the roar of a free way or a giant waterfall.  It must be a waterfall because this is the Pacific Northwest.

 view of my livingroom...
 opposite view of my livingroom....

 treasures from Park Falls....
how much can one faithful old purse hold?

This afternoon I am sitting at a Starbuck's using their Wifi.  It is painfully cold in here from their air conditioning.  I still feel confused where I am.  I keep thinking I am in Milwaukee.  Guess it's the city environment, yet the subconscious disbelief that I am actually across the Rocky Mountains and in Vancouver, WA.

Tomorrow I am supposed to get internet at Grandma G's.  Yeah!!

Tomorrow I will officially get into my new life at Creekside Estates by joining in the water arobics.

Tomorrow I will design a new blog layout for autumn in the PNW.

Tomorrow will be another great day in the life of Grandma G.

This has been a good last of August day in the life of Grandma G.

THE END:THE BEGINNNG!!

I am sitting at a McDonald's, connected to their Wifi.  I have to think about where I am.  Am I in Milwaukee?  Feels like it.   Am I in San Diego?  Park Fall?  Banff, Canada?  Wausau? Glacier Park?  Indianapolis?
Oh, yah, I'm in VANCOUVER, WA!!!  Yeah!

Today ended 20 days of 3 senior sisters adventures.   This morning I sent Betsy and Kate on their way to Indianapolis via Portland airport.
Today starts my new life adventure in Vancouver, WA!
Tonight I sleep alone in my new house.  Betsy and Kate have kept me company and helped unpack the essentials.  I have ventured out onto the interstate highway in busy traffic--have gotten lost only 3 times.  Have freaked out only about  48 times.  Kate has freaked out only about 56 times.
We did have a tourist afternoon on Tuesday, visiting the Fort Vancouver British trading fort and having a British style luncheon in the Grant house.

Enjoy The Journey!

I have heard that it is not the destination but the journey that is important.
In my case it is the journey and the destination.
The destination came first and then the journey became the means to get there.
Today in Golden, Canada we came upon this affirmation to

ENJOY THE JOURNEY

That is what we have been doing for 11 days.
Today was the 2nd to the last day of THE JOURNEY.
We passed into British Columbia,
Drove 540 miles through beautiful, though rugged mountains.
We stopped at Merritt and were helped by very friendly folks.
Tonight we are staying in Hope.
Tomorrow we will finish THE JOURNEY when we arrive in
Vancouver, WA!

This has been a good "enjoy the journey" day in the life of Grandma G.

Beautiful Lake Louise!!

I finally have time to write a bit.  Tomorrow, Friday, we will embark on the last leg of our journey to the Pacific Northwest and my new home.  We will arrive in Vancouver, WA late in the day on Saturday.
I have enjoyed the entire trip--with a few travel blunders.  I have relished our time here in Banff, Canada.  The scenery is beautiful, the weather just right.  The International flare of the region  added a cultural dimension.  I heard many more languages and accents than just plain "American".  The food was designed with many cuisines in mind.

Lake Louise

It was  especially gratifying to spend time with my 2 sisters and niece.  With not having lived at home much I did not spend much time with family.  This has been a wonderful bonding time.  We are not only family, but friends.
