Difficult Friday/Better Saturday...

Friday was a difficult day.  I don't know if it was the hot weather the day before or the large ice cream cone or the pawn shop interchange or indecision on moving method or the "last lap" syndrome, but whatever, I was completely drained and overwhelmed.  The immensity and the unknown of the actual move happening in 10 days was more than my emotions could comprehend.
I was to that point where normal human strength and endurance was gone---where you know you can't go on yet you have to go on.  I imagine it is the same dynamics as when an athlete or mountain climber or anyone with a challenge is totally spent but the goal isn't achieved yet. One must call an energy and determination not one's own.
The excitement and hope of hiring professional movers had been frustrated when a mistake in calculation on the movers part was revealed and "other" fees started adding up.  Yet I had already told my sons they didn't need to drive a moving truck out for me.  It was back to the computer to see what could be figured out.  Burt was up for the weekend so he came over for a chat.  We talked about using a "pod", but he also advised me to just kick back, rest and watch TV for the late afternoon and evening in order to rest

This morning before getting out of bed, I laid there thinking and praying for a strength beyond my own--for the energy, calm and order to get on with the sorting and packing.  After awhile I felt fresh resolve, calmness and strength from God.
SO.... at 7:45AM a packing marathon began.   I did well until 10AM and took a break.  The rest of the day, at least until 4PM went along smoothly.  Then, it was time for a 2 hour TV break.  But back to work for a couple hours this evening.
In between, there was activity right outside my house.  This weekend is our town's summer celebration of Flambeau Rama!  Except I don't have time to indulge.  But thanks to the road construction  the Evergreen Road race ended 1/2 block down the road.  (My thoughts?  "This would have been a great weekend to have the garage sale!)

About an hour later I heard more motorcycle rumbling than I've ever heard in Park Falls.  Looking across the street I could see there was a large gathering.  There was a funeral of someone associated  with the local bikers.  There was no concern for rowdiness. The police were there for escort to the cemetery.  I am sorry there had to be a funeral, but it was cool to see all the motorcycles.

         TIME CRUNCH!

Me thinks me still needs to downsize!

It seems we will be using a pod for moving.  The guys will have to load a Uhaul truck and take my things to Wausau where they will reload it into a pod that will be shipped to Vancouver.  Other guys out there will unload it.
Burt and his boys will come next Sunday to do that.  All must be ready to go by then--8 days.
My 2 sisters will be arriving here next Saturday--7 days.  I hope to be driving away from Park Falls on Tuesday, August 14--10 days.  Blogs will probably be short the next 10 days because I will be....BUSY.  And I do like my sleep.  Keep checking in to view developments and progress.

Thas has been a good work marathon day in the life of Grandma G.
