G for my missed prize!  I KNEW I should win the prize for traveling the longest distance, BUT....2 high school girls determined a fellow from Seattle was the furthest. BUT...computer computing showed Seattle 1867.68 miles northwest and Portland 1880.93 miles northwest.  But....driving distance shows 2283 miles to Seattle and 2239 miles to Portland.  Seattle fellow got to go on stage to "pin" Seattle and get an ornament and certificate.  But....kind nephew Jim bought Gram G a G from the original marquis for the better prize!  The End.
Jim asked if the evening got me into the Christmas spirit.  I said, "Yes, my heart just grew two sizes!"

Sunday dumpling dinner!!
Where ever Gram G goes, dumplings seem to follow!!  Drying the bread and breaking it into small pieces.

More family togetherness!!  I have 5 sisters and a brother, 4 "in-laws" to visit along with numerous nieces and nephews and "greats", and a dear friend!! So sorry I missed seeing a few.

I'm home once again, adjusting to a 3 hour time change and fighting a cold.   The weather in Indy was sunny and mild.  The joy of bonding with family, wonderful!   I will miss my "back home in Indiana" family very much, but will relish the memories of our visit until the next time we meet!!

This has been a good 7 "Indiana Thanksgiving" days in the life of Grandma G.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

SO much to be thankful for!!                                                                                      (Thanksgiving dinner at Creekside Estates)

Such as...

Grandson, Zach, and 2 co-workers were not killed a week ago Sunday night as a hit and run driver sideswiped their car instead of hitting head on.
Thanks to the quick response of the driver to swerve right. He was hospitalized for 5 days. Zach has torn rotator cuff and the other fellow a concussion.

Last Monday was the day to write out Thanksgiving cards...while a little "woolly bear" came to visit...

Sunday we celebrated 2 B-days and our Vancouver dumpling Thanksgiving dinner!!

First came the 5 loaves of bread to set out to dry on Friday....after an afternoon of shopping at Freddy's.
Sunday afternoon cook's assistant Angie came to help break up the bread...to mix with grated potatoes to...

make 38 dumplings
and sour gravy

Ye trusty turkey dumpling cooker..

Makes Gram G happy and thankful to have a table full of family!!

And to welcome the newest sour gravy enthusiast!!
