Roofing Bee/Dumpling party.....

The goal of the San Diego weekend was for Gerry and his 4 brothers to re-roof his new, older home in Ocean Side.   With a setback of a worker not showing up to take off old shingles and a second set who simply were "done working" before the job was finished, numerous trips for supplies and heavy winds on Monday, the project was about 2/3 done when the brothers had to leave on Tuesday.

How (Not) to spend Valentine's Afternoon.....

So Valentine's Day is remembered in lovely red, mine is experienced in lonely blue....not really, but sounds like I need a pat on the head...this Valentine's Day is a bit lonely blue with spending the afternoon in Portland airport.  I should be in sunny San Diego right now but am in the middle of lots of people, rainy skies with a "sun break" poking through, blue SWA planes taking off...but NOT mine.

The day started with a coating of SNOW on my Hobbit yard.  Time for San Diego sunshine!  I would be there by 2:50 to enjoy Valentine's Day surprises with family!
Deb dropped me off at Portland airport at 11AM and by 12:20 we were all boarded onto the plane.  By 1:20 we were all directed OFF the plane.  Problems with a flap on the left wing.  We would be leaving at 5:10 on a different plane.  They did give each of us a $200 flight voucher and $14 for food.

With a little blogging, eating my favorite salad intended for the flight,  a 3 o'clock tea time and $14 to spend in candy and cookies, the afternoon passed a bit boring but alright.  Granddaughter Angie kept texting for updates and declaring how impatient she was to see me.

Finally landing SoCal at 7:30 I received text saying Bill would be there shortly, that Angie had to go back up to Carlsbad.  She sure is being mature about that after all the excitement she had to see me.
SURPRISE! She was tricking me!
Presents!  Playtime! Visiting! Gram G, Angie, Bill, Berklee, Amanda
