a little smog over LA....

A Tiny Dino Tale......

At daughter Angie's motel there was this tiny dino on the lobby table.  It looked friendly enough and Angie wanted to pet it.  

BUT.....it turned on Angie...and....and....and...started to devour her head!!  Oh My!!   
Poor, Poor Angie....my dear daughter, what is happening....?

The beastly, horrible little thing completely engulfed Angie's head..                 

She is now known as DINO MOM.... 

 A sunny afternoon at the Carlsbad beach....

FINALLY....I get to see the Carlsbad flower fields in bloom!! 

So many times I've been by them but never at the proper season...

   50 acres of Ranunculus flowers...

And then it was time to fly home.

But Wait....there will be more come September....

Wedding, that is....






I have been home for 3 weeks....haven't blogged for 2 weeks.  I'm not lazy, just lazy at blogging.  Spring has arrived here in the PNW. That means time outside cleaning up my gardens.

This has been a good 14 family fun days in the life of Grandma G.

"On the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.  When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him,'They have no more wine'.  'Woman, why do you involve me?' That's why I sat on the right side of the plane in a window seat!  Just in case!  In case we flew over it and the sky was clear of clouds!! We weren't high enough to get a complete view, but very close!  I was disappointed the pilot didn't bother to announce the sight.  But I was watching for it!!  Contented Gram G.

Mt. Shasta?  We must be flying into California.
How do they get those lines so straight??

Princess Berklee time!!








 Bill took 2 days off work.  On Thursday it was a hot sun, chilly air 1 mile walk to dog beach for some surf time, "puppy" watching and sand burying 19 small princesses.   

I had just asked Bill if he ever finds sand dollars when I came upon a small one.Pelican patrol checking us....on the walk home a kind man bought us each an ice cream treat!!

Friday late morning we left San Diego to drive to Pasadena....after a stop at In N Out burger.  A long drive through heavy traffic for start of Easter weekend, slowed down by 2 accidents and mysterious roadside fire. 

Entering LA area and LA smog.....






All 7 Schmidt sibling families and Gram G gathered in Pasadena for a special occasion Sat. March 31!  4 families traveled at various times from Wisconsin, 1 family and Gram G flew down from Vancouver and 2 families drove up from San Diego! There were only 5 out of 36 family members not present.
