A walk in the nearby
Garfield park....
hung out here in early school years....

Monday ushered in our girls' Indiana adventure trip.  This year we headed to the Ohio River and southeast Indy.

First stop at Oldenburg to check out the "barn store" at the nun's farm.  Kate bought "holy" tomato plants to replace her failing ones.....

Then it was on to Rising Sun, IN
far southeast along the Ohio River and the Kentucky border.

Bunking for the next two nights at the Rising Star casino......a river boat.
(The hotel is a separate building.)
(Gram G doesn't do casinos and I'm not saying my sisters are casino hoppers, but they do manage to get free hotel nights:-) Nice!

This place makes me feel small.....

Blogging on the go....

On the road again....
a visit in Madison,
one of the oldest cities in Indy

How much is that kitty in the window??

Farm country....
There's tobacco in some of them there fields....

On to exploring Clifty Falls

One or four can't explore without adequate vittles.

          Bat Cave.....

Driving along the Ohio....
Indiana on the left,
Kentucky on the far right.
Gram G has a song started from a few years back....
"Man standing on the banks of the O-HI'-O"....strumming his guitar....no one sees him come and no one sees him go.   Oh...
need to dig it out and finish it...

Dinner on the river....

 Double large barge passing by.

Flood doors ready to close if needed...

Picnic lunch on the way home to Indy on Wednesday.....
by a.....casino??

This has been a good  3 "on the Ohio River" days in the life of Grandma G.

"Let the rivers clap their hands; let the mountains shout together for joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.  He will judge the world righteously and the peoples fairly."  (Psalms 98: 8 & 9)
