HAPPY HOBBITOBER
Peculiar
occurrence....a sunny warm day and a turtle covered in icy frost....
The Queen of Hearts, She made some tarts...
Well, an organic cherry cheesecake and baby ones.....
And a "cottage" pie....
not "shepherds" pie, cause it's made with beef not lamb....
For lunch visit in the Hobbit garden with dear Hobbit friend, Megan
After the meal, Megan agreed to a craft project with me.....
a signed stepping stone to mark our visit....
Cheesecake topped with chocolate and whipped cream in the tea garden....

What happens to elder lady folk Hobbits, you ask? We don red hats and purple attire.....and go looking for adventure... We Red Hat Mamas met for breakfast before heading into Portland.
German pancake...
not my breakfast...
mine a veggie skillet..
A Red Hats visit to "OMSI" Oregon Museum of Science and Industry...
I hadn't been there before. We took in the featured presentation of outer space.
I was intrigued with the 3-D printer...I could never understand what it is about. The lady explained that the term "printer" was misleading and showed us a demonstration with the cheaper printer. The $20,000 one on loan to them was needing repair.
She "grew" a green cat for us on the cheaper printer, explaining that the green "thread" was made of potato and corn starch, making it compostable.
starting the bottom layer..
Took about 45 minutes to create...
....A CAT...
Speed boat tour boat,
Willamette River,
Portland skyline,
Red Hat lady under one of 8 bridges....(Fremont?)
New Telikum Crossing transit and walking bridge

It's a Hobbit thing...getting to be a habit.
Found the full soundtrack for
Lord of the Rings and
Peter Hollens'
Misty Mountains with Hobbit songs...
Then came across a free audible book (with first month's free subscription) of entire LOTR trilogy. 19 hours worth of listening to Hobbit lore....
Frodo's favorite little CALI hobbit....
Favorite great grand-Hobbit
with favorite oldest grandson Hobbit and Amanda in Portland...
FINALLY....appreciating Hobbit friend Carole for taking care of my plants while I fly around.....trying to go to Thai Orchid in Vancouver since mid-July....the light fixtures are upside-down metal wash tubs...lemon grass chicken was yummy...
Had time and nice weather for one more football game featuring Hobbit Jake and homecoming dance with Taylor...

Well, Gram G is off her rocker again,
I mean.... far out again....no,
rather, flying high again.....
let's say, trippin again.....
OK, check back in a few days to see where she lands....
This has been a good 7 "Happy Hobbitober" days in the life of Grandma G.
"The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense."
(Proverbs 27:9 NLT)
