Coming off from 3 months of interacting with families and friends I find it somewhat difficult to ease back into alone living. There is a level of energy that seems to be lacking. There is also several tasks that need to be done, even if not necessarily fun. It is relaxing, though, to go leisurely with whatever presents itself.
LIKE....needing to use up left over ingredients from having extra people around....
What does one do with a bag of baby carrots when one doesn't like raw carrots? With a hunk of cheese? With frozen smoked ribs from a dinner out? A bag of organic imported pasta?
How about homemade mac and cheese? Microwaved carrots and ribs freshly simmered?
Yummy.....
Not really on the mac... maybe the cheese texture, maybe the flour mixture..but nothing that more pepper, some basil and a viewing of The Lord of the Rings couldn't remedy.
Sure hope the mac freezes well cause there is LOTS.....
After going to the store to get fresh onion.... This dish did turn out yummy...
Two years ago, when at Indianapolis Children's Museum, Jude bought me a "pet dinosaur" to hatch from an egg. I never "incubated" it so Jude started it while he was here. You soak the egg in water for a couple days until it breaks through the shell. Then it grows for another few days....thanks, Jude....it's a Judasaurous!
There's a new kid on the block. Or make that a new puppy in the family.
Angie has adopted, Gracie, 8 months old.
She is small and walks with a limp from a bad hip.
checking out Gram's Hobbit garden...
Presently Bentley isn't happy with Gracie. Hopefully they will get to be friends..
Gram G's rose "tree" in her front side yard.
It's been a lumpy "hump" day
(Wednesday). I woke up at 5:20 after going to bed at 12:20. Lay in bed and thought about life and finally got up at 9. Makes for a groggy morning. Carole and I were scheduled to go enjoy a Thai lunch, but since she, also, woke up too early we rescheduled for a week or two. Muddled through a few tasks and gave in for a nap at 2:20. Still not sleeping at 3, but then next reading was 6:10. Nice. Tea time outside, water the gardens, heat up dinner and turn on the last Lord of the Rings movie. To bed at 1 AM. Gotta shift my hours back....
Practicing selfies and garden breakfast for one....
fruit salad with FRESH raspberries from Gram's berry patch...gonna be a good harvest....
Time to enjoy the Olympics for several days.
Time for a Sat. fund raiser car wash for Ted....wash off all that mountain and desert dust...
Time to relish a little hummingbird nectar.....
a little nectar for a little hummingbird....
I can watch him from my living room window...
This has been a good 7 "lots of this and that" days in the life of Grandma G.
"Sow your seed in the morning, and at night let your hands not be idle, for you do not know what will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well." (Ecclesiastes 11:6)
