Off to the Midwest......Wed.......

When is a wildflower garden, not a wildflower garden?

If a stitch in time saves nine, will a weed pulled small save time?  (It took me several years to figure out the meaning of  "a stitch in time saves nine"/nine what?)

I thought I could grow a wildflower garden instead of pulling all those things with little flowers.  Nice Try. The community inspection folks called them weeds.  It would have been much easier to spray earlier in the spring, but Grandma G was too busy with other activities.  My "yard" is all small gravel.  It is suppose to be easier to maintain.  WRONG.
Before I left for more adventures I had to pull at least the high growing "weeds"  The temperature the past several days has been hot, but fortunately this morning it was cool, so a half hour work cleaned things up.

Next it was off to the airport, but late.  We would have missed our flight, except for a kindly rep who came to the back and lead us past 100 people to the front for check in.

    ON A LARGE INTERNATIONAL PLANE

There were flight delays in Atlanta so we finally took off at midnight rather than 9PM.  With not getting to bed until 2AM central time we slept in on Thursday.  Angie and her friend treated us to breakfast/lunch at Stir Crazy, a restaurant where you pick your ingredients and they stir fry it for you.    I had veggies, chicken and flat rice noodles.  Yum.

Since the temperature was 99 degrees we went for a swim in one of the many lakes nearby.

"Is that all the food I get?"

This has been a good 2 "travel and settle in" days in the life of Grandma G.
