Thanks to the return of the Polar Vortex in the Midwest my flight to the Midwest was delayed by a day. Friday I was up at 4AM and by 6AM in the friendly skies going from Portland,OR to Atlanta, GA to Milwaukee, WI and then by car to Wausau, WI. It was a full day of flying fun.
Chuck picked me up at 4PM and by 6PM he, his Charlies' Angels and I were headed north to Alaska----well, north to mid Wisconsin. But before that he had to make a stop at the Milwaukee skating center. This is probably the closest I will ever get to the Olymics. strong winds....
Our drive to Wausau went fine until 30 miles out. The weather turned to high winds and blowing snow across slippery roads.
Saturday morning brought a bit of a culture shock to me.......
