driving through the SD Bad Lands in
98 degrees. I got out a few times to climb
the mounds and take photos, but then
quickly returned to the cool of car AC.
We're (still) on the road again......
I had no idea such stark beauty existed in southeastern South Dakota! We could easily be on another planet! Outer space story, anyone?
Did we all successfully navigate the treacherous environment?
Almost.....
Chuck's van had a flat tire. Seems it was punctured by roadkill antlers. Oh my.
Fortunately he had already made arrangements to stay overnight in Sioux Falls.
(Burt's van and camper were out of the state by then, though we, too, passed that road kill.)
