Bad Lands and beyond.....

 We spent Friday afternoon
driving through the SD Bad Lands in
98 degrees.  I got out a few times to climb
the mounds and take photos, but then
quickly returned to the cool of car AC.

We're (still) on the road again......

I had no idea such stark beauty existed in southeastern South Dakota!   We could easily be on another planet!  Outer space story, anyone?

Did we all successfully navigate the treacherous environment?

                                  Almost.....

Chuck's van had a flat tire.  Seems it was punctured by roadkill antlers.  Oh my.
Fortunately he had already made arrangements to stay overnight in Sioux Falls.

(Burt's van and camper were out of the state by then, though we, too, passed that road kill.)

Burt and Jen and their 5 sons welcomed me to ride home(almost) with them in their "tank" and sleep Friday night in the camper.  That was a first for me.  We drove across southern Minnesota late on Friday. Sat AM we traveled north to Minneapolis and west to a small town near Park Falls. There Louie picked me up and by 3PM I was home after 16 days---the finish to our Great South Dakota Family Time Adventure!

One of several wind farms in southern Minnesota.

This has been a good "end of South Dakota Family Time" day in the life of Grandma G.
